Wednesday, September 3rd, 8–11 PM at Mortholmen Sildesalteri in Åkrehamn.

Do you have the guts to bite the head off a dead herring?

Well, it’s not required to join – but if you’re feeling brave, you’re welcome to give it a go.

Join us for The Headiest Catch-Up evening – the night before the big day.
There’ll be toast and taste – from hearty sips to sea-worthy bites – plus the salty tale of Mortholmen, the old herring saltery turned passion project by Capt. Sig Hansen and his wife June.
After an extensive restoration, the building is ready to whisper stories from a bygone era – and host new memories and tall tales still to come.

Come fill your plate, reconnect with old and new friends, and test your courage with a curious culinary tradition said to bring good luck.
No pressure – just remember: bragging rights last forever.
The Captain himself will join us – unless he’s unexpectedly called back to the Bering Sea to wrangle a rogue crab or two. You know how it is.

But – like any good catch – this evening only happens if enough of you bite. So round up your crew and let us know you’re in by August 22.
We’ll keep you in the loop as the nets start to fill!

Please note:
This event is not part of SID 2025 and will be invoiced at NOK 1,400 per person.
